What happened to Infernal Hoardes?

I was getting bored of doing NMDs for obducite farming for my secondary, and ran 6 IHs and was only getting ~400 aether each run. Routinely was getting 7-900 last season. Very few elite options between waves that could multiply nicely. Was this on purpose or have I just been unlucky?
