why i QUIT adopt me (rant lol)

i played adopt me since 2018. over the years i've been frustrated with lots of things about this game. this won't contain all of them there are loads but these are the only things i remember. brace yourselves whilst i tell you most of the things i find annoying about adopt me and why i quit playing:

adopt me? more like scam me

alright i’m bringing back something i’ve been saying for years. we all still play it for the pets but it’s painfully pay to win, aging up pets takes forever. everything is also overpriced. yet somehow getting good pets is the only thing keeping us satisfied (until we realize we’ll never actually be satisfied lol)

beggers

every adopt me player would have atleast seen those players who dress up as literal trash bins or people claiming they got scammed. people who ask you to offer for their pet if you have a good pet equipped too. like… I’M the broke one here. i grinded for my inventory, go work for yours, noob. 

the player base is something else

every year more new kids join. some get rich, but most are just 5 who don’t even respond in trades. and don’t get me started on people using value sites like elv. if i hear “you’re 0.1 off” one more time… bro, i do not care, don’t trade me then. 

trends

 i’ve never liked adopt me trends. spin the wheel, pick a door, it’s the same thing every year and surprise, people get scammed. 

traders, i can't even with y'all

honestly traders deserve their own subreddit. one example are the indecisive players who make you wait five minutes, then decline last second. WHY.

the building system is pure pain 

adopt me has the worst building tools ive ever used in any game. no search function, tedious menus, and not to forget how furniture just disappears in the void sometimes stealing your money. and people who actually build like, full on custom builds? i respect it, but also… do you guys go outside?? because that takes actual talent and effort. 

the soul crushing feeling of a bad trade 

there is no sadness quite like scamming yourself in a trade. the instant regret is painful yet i still kept playing.

pet sounds & emotes

every time night falls and that cursed whistling pet noise happens. i have to turn my volume all the way down. also why cant we turn off those pet emotes? why does my pet curl up and sleep every two seconds while i’m trying to put petwear on it. 

adopt me is addicted to overpricing

every update prices are way too overpriced. for example gingerbread takes forever to grind and usually you can only get not so much things with it. the only semi-generous thing they’ve done is those skull age up potions, and even that doesn’t fix how long it takes to age pets. bundles/shop items are cool but the overpricing adopt me has personally offended me too many times to count. 

the map is boring let's be honest

adopt me's map has been the same since forever. they just slap on new buildings to make it seem different, but we all know they’re scared to change it because it’s their brand image. they do kind of try to switch it up with their biome updates but it's still pretty much the same. 

the login streak 

had a 300 day login streak, missed one day and poof gone. i know that’s how streaks work but can’t we get a grace period or something? logging in daily for this game was already pain. 

they keep us poor on purpose 

adopt me lowkey wants us to suffer. some of the little updates they think that no one will notice like that one update they made limiting the cash register payments to 150 bucks every five minutes. they knew what they were doing. icl i used to grind on my alts and transfer bucks but after that update i had to spend an extra hour doing it.

repetitive 

join a game, sit in a trading server, get trash offers. repeat.

this is unrelated but that navigate button they put at the tasks section when there's a new event is so bad. i don’t want to get an arrow pointing where to go, i just want to teleport straight there. they have changed this recently though.

their designs 

adopt me wants to be a trendsetter, but lately they’re just playing it safe/not slaying anymore. also why does adopt me feel the need to slap paw prints on EVERYTHING? vehicles, toys, furniture... just why, it would look fine without it. 

-unrelated but i was also annoyed with adopt me making a sad cat in their game poster. they’re only sad that fewer players are playing, and their game sucks, so they used a crying pet to guilt trip people. did anyone notice that? there wasn’t any update regarding that poster they put up they only did it to be controversial and cause speculation. 

repetitive

people don’t realize how much of a time waster this game is. grinding tasks for hours, multitasking doing other things like youtube on the side, repeating the same cycle over and over. it’s literal brainrot. you finish one goal then immediately start a new one and it never ends. unless you’re a youtuber making content tho, it's pointless.

boring

i’ve left and rejoined so many times, but now i think i’m actually done. i appreciate their effort to come up with new pet updates each seasonal event and some random ones, but overall it’s good if you’re a kid playing. but once you get older you realize it’s just a waste of time.
